Ramona, aka Ramonster

Rescued from the Long Beach shelter in May of 2023, this beautiful 15-year-old girl came to us deeply traumatized and anxious — so much so that the shelter had to give her Trazodone just to help her cope. The moment we looked into her soulful eyes, we knew she deserved a second chance at love, so we set out on a six-hour road trip to bring her home.

In the beginning, fear and skittishness shaped much of her world, but with gentle patience and consistency, her true self is slowly emerging. She is proving to be a tender, affectionate, and incredibly resilient soul. After a much-needed dental, she may now be toothless, but her spirit shines brighter every day. She is learning to trust, to feel safe, and to embrace the comfort and love that will surround her for the rest of her life.
